AMC has a new logo, designed by Jessica (Dilbone) Jensen, an artist who grew up in this church family. On the logo, the curved beams inside the building’s outer frame immediately identify this logo as ours, highlighting a beautiful and unique feature of our worship space. The stylized ampersand (&) at the heart of the logo points to what we’re currently feeling called to as a congregation. For one, it lightly references the middle word of our working vision statement (Taste & See), but more than that, it reminds us that we are in a season of growth — of recognizing the gift we have received from God these past few years and extending it. The ampersand identifies us as a people of God who are saying “Yes, and . . .” — as in “Yes, we have received a gift from God, and now we want to grow that gift.” Furthermore, given that many of us have recognized that the gift we’ve received is the gift of connection and hospitality, the ampersand also fits our focus on appreciating and increasing our connection with one another and others. And finally, just as the ampersand connects both sides of the logo, our prayer can also be this: that our coming work will connect our recent experience of God’s goodness to what God has next for us, and that our future will also grow out of (and connect us to) the long and faithful past of this church and of God’s people through the ages. – from the January 29, 2023 AMC Bulletin For more on our new Taste and See vision, go here.
