Outreach

AMC’s Advent outreach partners are CHANCE Recovery
(local) and MCC (global)
The Giving Tree will be returning to our foyer in December in
support of both CHANCE and MCC.
But first, for the month of November, Outreach presents . . .
The Giving Tent
During the month of November, please bring new tents, sleeping bags, and tarps (for ground-cloths under tents) to help keep unsheltered folks served by CHANCE warm and dry.
Pile them into the Giving Tent in the foyer.
CHANCE is a non-profit agency working in Linn, Benton, and Lincoln counties offering support for those who have experienced or are experiencing addiction and homelessness

August Outreach Project: Mennonite Central Committee School Kits
The MCC Challenge is to help 10,000 kids attend school by making 10,000 school kits during the month of August. Whether you donate to support the making of kits or make a kit yourself, every donation helps! Notebooks and pencils are a tangible message of God’s love for families around the world who have been forced to flee their homes or struggle to afford basic school supplies.
Donations may be made by specified giving in the offering.

Support this project in one of two ways:
1. Purchase items off their wishlist:
We’d like to bring these items to them at one time, so if you purchase an item from Amazon (or a similar item from another retailer), please bring them to AMC in the month of June.
2. Donate by choosing “Outreach Project” on EasyTithe or by designating your check/cash in the offering plates on Sunday. Because of you, a child will get a head-to-toe medical exam, a child-sensitive, fact-finding interview, family support and referral services, and trauma counseling to help them move forward.

April Outreach Project: Bring a Friend to Camp
The April Outreach project is raising funds so that AMC youth in high school and middle school can each invite a friend to join them at Drift Creek Camp this summer. AMC already pays for our own kids to attend camp. This project will allow each of our youth to invite a friend at AMC expense.
The cost for a “campership” is $365 for high school and $340 for middle school. Make a note on check for “campership” or choose “Outreach” on Easytithe and then “DCC campership”.
AMC youth: Information on how to apply to bring a friend will be out later, but you can count on it and start planning.
